Sidecar reads your Dencar reports in your own browser and keeps the results there. Nothing about your wash — sales, members, consumers, VIA exceptions — is ever uploaded to WashLevel. The only things our servers ever see are your license key and, if you subscribe, the billing details you hand directly to Stripe.
WashLevel Sidecar ("Sidecar") is a browser extension built by WashLevel that reads a car wash operator's own data from Dencar (admin.dencar.sancsoft.net) and displays it as dashboards — sales summaries, retail performance, membership health, and VIA Guard exception review — inside your browser. This policy covers the Sidecar extension and the washlevel.com/sidecar pages used to purchase and manage it. It does not cover Dencar or Sanc Soft, which are operated independently — see their own privacy policy for how they handle your data.
When you click Sync, Sidecar reads report pages, VIA exceptions, consumer records, and payment history from Dencar using your own already-open, already-authenticated Dencar session — the same session your browser already has from logging in normally. The results are stored using chrome.storage.local, a storage area built into your browser and tied to your device. This can include:
None of this is transmitted to WashLevel's servers. It never leaves your browser except when your browser itself talks to Dencar to fetch it. If you uninstall Sidecar or clear your browser's extension storage, this data is deleted with it.
A small, separate set of data does reach WashLevel's servers, used only to run the license and billing side of Sidecar:
| Data | Where it comes from | What it's used for |
|---|---|---|
| License key | Sent by the extension each time it checks whether your subscription is active | Confirming your license is valid so syncing stays unlocked |
| Email address | Entered by you at checkout on washlevel.com/sidecar | Sending your license key and receipts; identifying your subscription |
| Payment details | Entered by you directly into Stripe's checkout form | Processing your subscription. WashLevel never sees or stores your full card number — Stripe handles that directly. |
Sidecar requests browser permission to read pages on admin.dencar.sancsoft.net. This permission is used only to fetch the reports, exceptions, and records described above, using the Dencar session your browser already has open. Sidecar never asks for, reads, or stores your Dencar username or password — it rides on your existing login the same way any tab you already have open would.
WashLevel uses a small number of processors to run Sidecar's licensing and billing, each limited to what it needs to do its job:
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes, and none of them receive your Dencar data, since that data never reaches WashLevel to begin with.
Data that does reach WashLevel (your license key, email, and subscription status) is used solely to operate Sidecar's licensing and billing — confirming an active subscription and sending you your key and receipts. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build ad-targeting profiles, we do not sell or rent it to third parties, and we do not run analytics or tracking scripts inside the extension. Sidecar's own service-worker code makes no outbound network requests beyond Dencar (to sync your data) and washlevel.com (to check your license and, if you ask, open the billing portal).
Data stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) stays until you uninstall Sidecar or clear it yourself. License and subscription records are kept for as long as your subscription is active plus a reasonable period for billing records, then may be deleted on request. To request deletion of your license/subscription record, or ask any question about your data, contact us using the details below.
Sidecar is a business tool built for car wash operators and is not directed at, marketed to, or knowingly used by children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
If we materially change what data Sidecar collects or how we use it, we'll update this page, update the effective date above, and note the change inside the extension (such as in the Settings tab or an update notice) rather than only relying on this page being re-read.
